WHAT: 1st Annual Arts-MANIA Arts Fair

WHO: Members of QSFA

WHEN: Saturday, October 4, 2014 noon to 6 PM
WHERE: Quincy Mall, Quincy IL

Quincy Society of Fine Arts (QSFA) will hold its First Annual Arts-MANIA Expo at the Quincy Mall on Saturday, October 4th from Noon to 6 PM, thanks, in part, to a grant from National Endowment for the Arts "Art Works."

QSFA is a Local Arts Agency with nearly 60 members under its umbrella.  They are the marketing agency for its members, as well as providing cost-effective services and grants to organizations and classroom teachers for arts programming.  This Expo will introduce our member organizations to our community. There will be performances, workshops and demonstrations throughout the day, giving plenty of opportunities to not only learn about these organizations, but to be entertained as well. Perhaps get some shopping in while you are there.

Participating groups are: Quincy University-Guitar Program, Quincy Symphony Orchestra-Woodwind Quartet, Trombone Duo, and Violin Duo, QCT-a scene from their up-coming Student Theatre Production, Quincy Art Center will do a Clay demonstration, and Big River Harmonizers, along with Quincy Community Band and the local group Avenue Beat will all perform.

Groups will be able to display their works, sell season tickets, sign up volunteers-generally, let the public know how they can become involved.

QSFA will hold drawings for free tickets and classes to some of the participants. "The arts are such a vibrant part of our lives here in Quincy, but many people don't take advantage of them. QSFA received a National Endowment for the Arts grant which will provide for tickets, classes, workshops and tours for our rural and other underserved portions of our populations as follow-up activities." States Lenny Bart, Executive Director of QSFA. "This fair will give people ample opportunity to get involved-either as an active participant or an observer."

The Quincy Mall is located at 33rd & Broadway in Quincy.  A full list of free performances and workshops can be found at Arts/Quincy website, www.ArtsQuincyforyou.Com.

This event is sponsored by Knapheide Manufacturing.

The Quincy Society of Fine Arts’ national award-winning programs: (1) expand our local economy, (2) strengthen education and (3) insure cost-effective arts programs and services for everyone!

This program is partially supported by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. "Art Works", and a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
